The People's Emergency Briefing

On 27 November 2025 a ‘National Emergency Briefing’ on Climate and Nature was held in London: an invited audience of over 1,000 politicians and leaders from business, culture and the media heard from ten experts, who set out implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy.

Launching in April 2026, The People’s Emergency Briefing is a 45-minute film that includes scientific content from this Westminster event with reactions from members of the public and some more familiar faces. It will deliver the facts about the threats, but also the enormous benefits of genuine emergency action. The aim of the film is to bring together people from in local communities across the UK to hear the evidence and discuss how we respond together. 

YorkCliConnect are collaborating with other local groups to organise a People’s Emergency Briefing event in a central location in York. We will also be coordinating and supporting individuals and organisations to host screenings and facilitate discussions and action across their communities – via workplaces, educational institutes, action groups, faith groups, sports teams and more.
